For Mature Audiences Only (2008)
Executive producer Judith McKelvey first approached Rob about writing a song for her senior-citizen themed television segments in 2003. She later had a vision of expanding that into a full album of music for and about old folks — a sexy project for development consideration. By late 2006, Judy had dreamed up concepts for cha-cha, folk rock, blues, lounge, ballads and more, all exploring the idea of growing old gracefully. The final product is one part Broadway, one part Sesame Street, a novelty album for the baby boom and those taking care of them. Produced by Rob with Jerome Maffeo, For Mature Audiences Only is a lighthearted take on tough aging topics, from knowing when to surrender your driver’s license (“It’s Time To Stop Driving”) to being overwhelmed by meds (“Too Many Pills”) and confounded by memory loss (“A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Lose”).
