This Disk Flies [ep] (2006)
After first playing together in October 2005 to support the release of Hypocrisy In The Genius Room, Rob Getzschman, Dan Ryan and Robby Sahm named their band Analog Jetpack and began gigging around the DC area. Following an inauspicious debut in January, the band teamed up with Maryland producer Josh Insel and set about producing a demo to explore the new sound they were creating together. Though the band cut eight tracks, only four would be completed in time for publication as an EP. Josh played the tracks for another Maryland producer, Jerome Maffeo, drummer for regional heroes Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, who asked if he could master them. Jerome collaborated with Robby Sahm to polish the tracks, which were distributed in a promotional floppy disk jacket. Later Jerome would produce the band’s album, And How They Flew.
